Arie has been terrified of water since her parents died in a boating accident when she was only six and she was found at sea. But she promised her best friend Saylor they would celebrate their 24th birthday together at Saylor’s family’s beach house. But when other family and friends join them for the celebration Arie’s nerves escalate for a different reason.
 
Kai, prince of his family’s mer-kingdom under the sea, and cousin to Saylor and her twin brother Freddie on land joins them to celebrate their birthdays. He soon finds himself in the middle of his ex and Arie, a woman he’s only heard about and dreamed of for years. He struggles to believe she’s not only terrified of water, but she doesn’t know their kind exist. When an incident with his ex pushes Arie and Kai close together, everything changes.
